Recycling Center ............................................763-767-6485

The City is actively involved in recycling as mandated by the State’s Select Committee on Recycling & Environment (SCORE). The Recycling Center is at 1831 111th Avenue NW and accepts newspapers, magazines, junk mail, glass and plastic bottles, metal cans, scrap metal, waste oil and filters, car batteries, corrugated cardboard, plastic bags, fluorescent lights, hard cover books, styrofoam, plastics 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6, pop and beer cases, anti-freeze, rechargeable batteries, Christmas tree lights and telephone books. Except for holidays, hours are Wednesday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A curbside recycling program requires trash haulers to offer recycling services. Items collected curbside are cans, glass and plastic bottles, newspapers, phone books, magazines, box board, paper, and cardboard. Each hauler has a recycling program, so please check with them for specifics on collection.

Appliances and electronics are accepted at the drop off center on the first Saturday of each month (unless it is a holiday weekend). Fees vary. Call 763-767-6485 for more information.

In addition to the above services, the City conducts special recycling events throughout the year such as paper shredding. Appliances, electronics, tires, and fluorescent lamps are accepted for a nominal fee, along with usable furniture, car batteries and scrap metal.

No hazardous waste is accepted; contact the Integrated Waste Management Unit at 763-323-5730 at Anoka County regarding disposal of hazardous materials.
